Well here we are, back at the airport again. Today I received in the mail a log book for flight times, which is fitting given the location from which this dispatch is currently being penned.

Today’s adventure will start slowly, creeping up on us unexpectedly until suddenly – I’ll find myself in the east coast. I’ll wake up (scratch that – the important thing to focus on in the next few hours is to sleep. The cocktails will help) in a new place – Massachusetts. Hopefully we aren’t slated to be washed away with the hurricane.

From there I’ll make my journey west after celebrating labor day. It should be a good adventure.

What’s this I speak of? Well… for a period of time throughout the week I performed services in exchange for money from a certain place. Now, I do the goods and services in exchange for money from a different place. Also, most often I sleep somewhere else than I did for the previous few years. I’ve slept here before. Quite oftenly.

This journey will be the only broad based attempt at marketing that this blog will employ.

We intend to bring the knowledge and insight contained here on these pages to the masses, specifically the European masses.

The first step is to get to Iceland, which has been nearly impossible due to volcanic activity.

Well after the success of yesterday’s legitimate adventure, today has a slightly more ridiculous one. Pedicure. I have done this a few times before, though the results have only improved over time (see: neon green toe nails in Hawaii). I’m actually writing this as I sit in the massage/foot tub chair, awaiting the maneuvers that will leave my feet calm and soft and rejuvinated. Rejuvination is a key hope as we close out 2009. It’s hard not to look back on the year as the holidays approach. Almost always we think of peaks and valleys, but this year we also can point towards the first time in my 26 years my toes were painted.

I’m heading to Everett this afternoon to attend the Aviation GeekFest with my friend Tony. We both got one of the 48 free tickets to this event, which is going to include an extensive tour of the Future of Flight Center and the Everett Boeing factory (Where they make 747s and 787s among others).

This whole thing is put on by Alaska Airlines’ social media team, and I’m excited. They had one event at their operations center, and the folks got to go learn how to be flight attendants and what not. I don’t really know what today will hold, but it should be fun and entertaining.

Wouldn’t mind coming home feeling like this guy:
